I work out regularly and have since high school. I will be 45 in a month and lift & run 4-5 times week. While I don't spend hours in the gym, I am in very good shape and take my health and fitness as seriously as my finances. I have noticed that I have to work harder at my diet as I age as my metabolism certainly isn't what it was years ago though!

You and me both. Everybody told me when I hit 30 it would be a problem. Nope. Then 40. Nope. Finally, after turning 50, it started becoming an issue. I'm now 55 and definitely find it far more difficult to keep the weight down. I'm not obese or even overweight but I'm at the upper limit of normal for my size and staying there is a challenge in a way it never was before. Still, I wear all the same size clothes as when I was in high school so I must be doing something right.

Yes, I try to. and it does get harder as you get older

I think the younger people that take for granted their higher metabolism and dont exercise or eat right get rudely awakened in their 30s and 40s where they just explode into obesity.

I am 45 and really trying improve my fitness because I'm playing on a women's basketball team and finding that the younger women can run faster and longer than me overall. I have a membership to Planet Fitness but I'm not self-motivated enough to boost my fitness routine to where it needs to be on my own in that gym. I just did orientation classes at cross-fit and orange theory and I signed up for orange theory- I love it! It's like working with a trainer for an hour. I'm paying $69/month for 4 classes and plan to go once a week; maybe I'll up my membership to twice a week in the new year.

Whatever keeps you interested is the main thing. For me, I'm getting a bit older, mid 30s so "getting bigger" isn't really an issue for me. I do mostly treadmill running, and some weights at the gym. I ride a bicycle to work and walk where ever it's feasible. I think there's better things in life than spending hours in the gym daily, so I do what I need to do, and get out.

I’m a work in progress. I jog about 16-18 miles per week.

I'm trying to be more physically fit. I go for 2 mile walks on the weekends. While I definitely know the health benefits of daily exercise, with being a health care professional, I still make excuses as to why it doesn't happen more frequently through the work week. I don't have a problem with eating healthy though. I'm aware of the importance of both.
