I consider reliable high speed internet more of a need than want, for my work. I just cut Netflix though since I use Genesis addon within Kodi app. If I really want a newer movie for quality I'll Redbox it.
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"

@LivingAlmostLarge, I'm contemplating this offer from Time Warner for its triple play for $109 a month. But with the $11.95 DVR recorder, $12.95 digital adapter, $7 wifi rental, plus about $15 in taxes per month, my total will be back to about $156 a month (for the 1st year). Beating the cable company at its game is not as easy as I thought. I'm doing fine with my current set which is a plain digital adapter ($71 a month) and Boost Mobile wifi ($55 a month) so I may just stick with what I have.

Update on my internet (pictures included).

        1) ordered the $14.99 cheapest internet (3 mbps speeds). I'm guessing DSL-like speeds
        2) ordered from eBay a $19 wireless modem (still in shipment)
        3) TWC's rental would have been $10 for a non-wireless modem, or $14 for a wireless gateway.
        4) TV services is $61 a month
        5) Previously my TV & internet combined was $175.
