  • are you throwing away good drugs?

i just finished reading an article. it was about american's throwing away billions of dollars worth of prescription meds, because of manufacturer's expiration dates or discard after instructions from pharmacists. anyway, the info was expiration dates on most meds don't mean that much... it depends on the meds type, some can last years. it was saying manufacturers make money by having ppl. throw things away too soon.
so, i will ask my pharmacist, doctor and call or write the drug company about future meds i may have to take.. thank goodness and god that i am in good health and not taking anything right now...
this may be some beneficial info. that you can use to ask questions yourself...

Usually the problem isn't that drugs become unsafe after the expiration date, but often they lose their potency.

How the drugs are stored has a lot to do with it. A cool, dark, dry place is best. Unfortunately, many people keep meds in the bathroom, which is probably the worst place in the house.
