  • Anyone switched to Windows 10?

I did on both my laptop and desktop. Boot up times are really fast. From pressing the power button to the login screen takes 8 seconds. Windows 8.1 took about 15 seconds. Shutting down takes about 4 seconds. The shut down location is no longer on the right side in Windows 8, now it's back on the bottom left side as with Windows 7.

    Nope.

I've been rather satisfied with Windows 7.

I'm eager to try it out!!! What else have you been surprised about??

Windows 7 is okay but it looks dated and it's boring now.

On my computers it took about 1 hour to install. My laptop is a 2013 Toshiba, Celeron, 500 gb hard-drive, 16 gb RAM (DDR3). My desktop is a 2012 core i5, 80 gb hard-drive, 8 gb RAM (DDR3). Both of my computers are old comparatively speaking. Modern computers have 3 Terabytes hard-drives or external SSD drives, 32 gb RAM or 64 gb RAM, I believe DDR4 RAM, liquid cooling systems, etc.

I only installed windows 10 on one of my machines. Im going to stick with windows 7 on everything else. I have no issues with 7. Its stable and I know where everything is.

I have 2 computers. One is very old and the Windows 10 upgrade took about an hour, I don't notice too much as far as performance, the interface is familiar, and it looks like Microsoft is trying to be more android-like with larger panels and such. My other computer is much more modern, and although I reserved my copy of Windows 10 a couple weeks ago, it has not been delivered yet.

I did. I was already a fan of windows 8 because my laptop is a touchscreen and the tablet interface was much easier to use with the screen but it had some frustrating limitations, for example it would switch to the old desktop when I wanted to use a program like word or excel. Windows 10 makes moving between screens and programs much more seamless for a tablet or touchscreen format. Love it!

I have not yet tried it, but I hope it's well received. Microsoft needs a cutting edge OS again.
                History will judge the complicit.

I upgraded my Windows 7 machine. Because of headaches/glitches, I had to redo the system twice, however. (which is why I recommend if you go from 7 to 10, you back up your data just in case things go south! I had a month old backup so I was decently okay but it could of been worse.)

Been loving it. Faster boot times, and no losing my start menu (which was a turnoff for me when I built this pc when considering my op system; Ugh I don't have a freakin' touch screen, I don't need a touch screen OS on my pc~!)

I think most will have no troubles but I was in the 5% that was cussin'? But doesn't matter. It works great now with minor glitches now and then, but can't expect anything this new to be bug free. And..I'm not going back. Just love it.

My Windows 8 keeps bugging me to take the upgrade- but with any update I've been hesitant..

Windows 7 keeps telling me to update. But hey I like Windows 7 it works fine so I am going to keep it! When they stop supporting windows 7.. I'll switch to 10.
