You still have to worry about bills & housework when you're that rich... The gas and electricity bills to heat your whole house are probably outrageous! not to mention your housekeeper would probably want frequent raises as you build more wings on your house

Gates is rich, but it's all tied up in theoretical money. I doubt he has the liquid assets everyone assumes he does.

If I were rich, i would not want a house any bigger than I have now. I love my house. I would still turn off the hot water heater all day. I would hire someone to come and clean the house once a week. I have hired people before, but they did not do a good job!
I don't think lots of money would change me!

If I did have a lot more money, I would definitely pay someone to do housework (except cleaning - my wife is an absolutely awesome cook). I mean things like dusting, vacuuming, laundry, etc. Oh - and ironing. Oh! And they'd handle the dry cleaning for me as well. I hate the whole process.

Bill Gates is a wonderful philanthropist and is doing AMAZING things for thw world.

            BUT

            He chooses to be rich.

            AND

this comment would grate severly on anyone who has had a child die through lack of money.

Gates seems to be your classic computer geek* (no offense intended--wish I had his talent)...My understanding is that he wasn't a philanthropist until his wife encouraged [shoved?] him into it. I suspect he didn't even comprehend his wealth until then. I obviously don't know for sure, just a guess.
My daughter applied for the Gates Millineum Scholarship, and though she wasn't awarded one, someone from the organization called about every two months to "do a survey" Huh!! We finally were cystal clear we had no reason to do them, and Leave Us Alone. Talk about a waste of $.
