I'm frugal by the way. I spent about 8 bucks on a smoothie drink a couple times. Yes! 8 bucks! I couldn't believe I did that! It had real fruit and premium ice cream in it, but still shocked I did it!!

I can't believe I spent one grand (yes $1,000) on a doula(it is a birth coach who came to the hospital with me to help me through birthing a child pain medication free)for my second child two montha ago. She was with me about 6 hours total only! I had a medication free birth(I don't really recommend it now as it was so painful I can't describe it). Honestly she didn't do much but what she did do was worth the money to me(just wish it was cheaper. I hired one with a lot of experience and medical knowledge)
Just can't believe I spent it.

My point is we justify some things. I got the birth I wanted. no surgical birth. I had emotional support during a time of need. It was something so personal I wasn't comfortable asking for a reduced fee.

another splurge was $600 on a nice quality guitar! I played it for years! worth it too!

I wish I could spend $600 on guitars. I've spent at least $10k over the past 3 years on guitars and amps and I don't even play. They were all gifts for my DH. I just spent $2600 on one for his Christmas gift.

I once spent $2600 on a Versace handbag and it was on sale.

I can't believe I spent $420 on a used 3rd gen Glock 26, then $940 after rebates for building a PC, $3000 on an 03 Elemement +1700 for a used motor/parts, and also $900 for xmas gifts. These items were purchased within the last 30 days. I can't think of the last time I've splurged so much on myself besides moving into my home years ago.

I once spent after college $3000 on credit on an Alienware laptop with 1gb of RAM and 20gb hard drive for gaming purposes... Lol never again
