Has anyone ever bought a test car?

I don't mean a dealer demo car used for test drives, but a manufacturer car that was used for testing various parts of the vehicle? I found the exact car that I want but it's a former test vehicle. It doesn't come with a warranty (you can get after market) but is protected on recalls or defects. It's priced $10k below average sales price. It's never been titled but the dealership did get a VIN. This particular dealership sells these cars all the time but I'm still a little hesitant.

I'm going to either fly to the dealership or take a road trip to check out the car. Just wondering if anyone's heard of this or has experience.

My first Corvette was actually a test car. In my personal experience, I have never had issues with that vehicle and after 10 Years, it still runs and puts a smile on my face.

I would suggest you do a bit more research on your own, but I believe that it would'nt be an issue.

Sounds like a good deal, it is $10k after all. It depends on the manufacturer, are their previous test car stable?
