What is your opinion as to which bank/cc statement to receive each month paper or e-statement? Why?

I have got paper, Bank & CC statements for years now! I have found that here in Australia. You have to pay a fee of around $3- $4 per page, to get a paper copy if you don't keep them in a file. I can get all via e-statments but for that month only and if I wish to get any other month then it will cost a fee (see above.) I think it's best to get paper and file them too! Then if you computer is down for a month or two then you have got paper copy to fall back on. I like monthly statements as this does tell you if someone using your account or Fees are over the top you can put a stop to it sooner!

I know this isn't for everyone, but I no longer receive statements of any kind. More than once a day, I will log online and verify everything with my PDA. I loooove doing it... but maybe that's not healthy. Anyways, only been caught off guard with a few transactions in the past several years. Otherwise, I always know how much I'm working with down to the last cent.

Too much paper at my house already! I still get my bank statement, but I get annoyed if I get a CC statement. I handle everything on line..and off site. Meaning it's not on my computer. So if my computer were to crash...wait...I don't have one...I use my work computer. So if it were to crash, my work would get me a new one...LOL

After keeping everything for years and never really needing it...I had a shreading party and started switching everything I could to e-statements.

I agree with you totally!! Too much paper in the statements and credit card bills. DH and I only have two ccs each but they are jammed pack with ads. I would like to outlaw both cc and bank statements but afraid to in case the computer crashes.

I have enough paper, I get paper statements form over half my bills and I would love to ditch it, if my computer were down there is DHs, or the library, or my ILs, it would have to be a major computer failure in all of charlotte for me to have a real problem.

oh but I would havbe to print the month for the checking to balance..I just can't read online as well. I can handel one total, but I need to check off the list to balance (and recheck, and dots, and highlight, and whatever else till I find my errors!)

though I do think a back up of a recent month on paper is cool, but then not like my house is fire proof!

I get paper statements because i like to reuse their envelopes for my coupons. I take a few small envelopes, staple it together, so I can file my coupons there. I always take it when go shopping, In fact it's always in my car, I only take it home when I want to sort or get rid of outdated coupons or add some new ones.
I pay everything online. But when I get paper statement, that way I am sure I don't forget to pay for it.

My dad is old school and loves everything in paper. He has sooo many files it is CRAZY. I have to give him credit though, he's pretty organized with it all. He's just big on keeping everything documented. He's not so big on the transition into technology. When I suggested the idea for me to get online only statements, he strongly discouraged it. I decided it wasn't worth the $5 incentive to upset him. Hehe.

I get E-Statements, then transfer each statement on to CD that records all transactions for that account. That way if there is ever a problem, I present the CD with the data and wave the white hanky.

Shredded paper statements are great for the fireplace.
