  • How often do you go to the bank?

I ended up going to the bank for the first time in over a month. I realized that I hardly ever go to a physical bank branch anymore because I can do most of my banking online. I maybe go once every month, but probably less. Do you find that you're going less to the bank than you have in years past? When is the last time you actually went into a bank branch and interacted with a bank employee?

About once every two months for cash at the atm outside. Perhaps two or three times a year to deposit a check.

Hardly ever since they started offering the mobile app. The only time I go is when I hit my monthly deposit limit with the app ($8,000 for some reason) and I still have checks to deposit, and then it's just the ATM. That happens maybe 3 or 4 times/year.

For a while, I was having to go monthly because I was receiving one check that couldn't be read by the app or the ATM but the company changed format and now I can deposit that like all of the others.

      So I'd say at most 4 times/year.

I haven't been inside a bank for probably 10 years. Being a Navy guy, we learned a long time ago how to do everything remotely. At first it was snail mail, then online.

I deposit a fair amount of cash, so I stop at the ATM at least once or twice a week. My CU has a branch located on my walk home from work, and in the same building as my preferred grocery store, so it's very easy.

              Pretty much never.

I have had a bank account for 20+ years. IF anything, I go to the bank more than in the past because we have a branch down the street from our house. 20 years ago we just banked by mail and phone. & then internet.

I go there occasionally. I actually have to go there tomorrow. I have a check from travel reimbursement from work that I need to deposit so I can pay off my credit card.

Does your bank offer mobile banking? It is SO convenient!

Yes. They just came out with it a few months back. I really should download the App and give it a try.

I typically only go a few times a year if I have to withdrawal amounts greater than 1000. Otherwise I hardly use my ATM cards either. It's getting to the point I actually have to hesitate when I enter my PIN at times. Or when I'm at the bank, I finally realize they've remodeled or updated the layout from when I was last there.

The last time I went to a teller was about 5 years ago when I needed a cashier's check to pay the downpayment on my mortgage. The last time I went to a teller for a normal transaction must have been at least 8 years before that.

I was in college and I still got paid by check rather than direct deposit. I used to take all my deposits to tellers because my mom said to was better to use a teller than an ATM for deposits. One month, I got hit with an unexpected fee and was told it was because I'd visited a teller more than a certain number of times in one month. When I explained that I had no idea such a fee existed, I was able to get the fee reversed. But, I decided that keeping track of teller visits per month was too much of a hassle and completely stopped visiting tellers except when given no other choice.

I was at the branch last September to have them demo how to deposit cheques using my cell phone's camera. Is that system popular in the USA?

Once or twice a month. I have an envelope system that requires amounts I can't get from the ATM. It's also right down the street from me.

I actually have to go today to deposit some money which I'm going to need to pay to my credit card for the groceries I got. I hadn't planned on having to buy so many or I would have just left the amount in checking to transfer over.

A very common myth. It is actually far safer to use an ATM. The security and checks and balances are greater with electronic transactions. It is much harder for a bank employee to do anything fraudulent with the ATM deposit.
