Hopefully no refund, but if there is it'll just go back into the slush fund which we depleted a bit this year to buy a car and very high end speakers for our media room.

I've already maxed out the backdoor Roths and made my planned investment into taxable account, so it's just 401k, 403b, HSA, and company match autopilots for the rest of my investing for the year, so I don't have anything pressing for any money we might get back.

We got a nice 4600 refund back this year on fed and owe a hundred on state so it looks like I need to adjust the withholding a bit. Probably just going to fund the wifes 2013 roth with it.

We owe $1700. We haven't received a federal refund in years. I would be okay if we could just break even.

I'm getting about $1k back total (ended up owing DC $64). I'll be using that money, plus the extra left over from my next paycheck to pay off the very last of my student loans, and therefore the last piece of debt that I have!! woo! It will be nice to be 100% debt free in about 2 weeks. I rent, so no mortgage, but my next big task is beefing up my savings so I have a decent downpayment and can buy a house in the next year or so.

Finished taxes yesterday. Refund $30. The kids owe some minimal taxes on investments so will pay that for them.

I was getting really excited. It was beginning to look like we had everything we needed to file by the end of Jan.... But, we didn't get the W2's from DH's previous employer (who paid DH back wages in 2013). Sooo, DH sent an inquiry to the old employer. If we don't hear back, I guess we have to check with the IRS to help us figure out what to do....

I am funding the last bit of my 2013 HSA with the money from my refund which is also the only reason I am getting a refund. Got to love last minute tax shelters.

I aim for us to not owe a penalty, that means some years we owe less than 1k and some years we get back less than 1k.
