  • A frugal Christmas

Just wanted to share, a few months ago I cleaned out my wallet and found a large amount of unused gift cards. After making sure the balances weren't going to disappear or shrink, I saved them and used them all for Christmas gifts this year. They totaled $250 altogether so I got almost all of my shopping done. The best part was I could shop online and take advantage of the free shipping deals, so we avoided the long lines and crowded parking lots.

We also used junk mail for wrapping paper, which was then recycled!

    Awesome.

We also just use junk mail for wrapping gifts. My kids delighted in cutting out and taping silly pictures all over each other's gifts. Much more fun than wrapping paper.

Sagremus, how do you use junk mail for wrapping? Do you have a way to do it for packages larger than gift cards?

MonkeyMama, what your kids do with cut-outs sounds cute. Maybe I'll keep an eye out for interesting pictures.
