What are some of the strange things that you have seen people do with coins. I came across this penny dress

and it got me to start thinking that a lot of people use coins in alternative ways. What are some of the strange, weird and unusual ways you've seen coins used?

That dress must weigh at least 30 lbs....

I've seen a restaurant "wallpapered" with coins. Also multiple restaurants with the same motif except with $1 bills.

Another weird thing I've seen people do with coins: carry around loads of them. --- Seriously, there's no way I would walk around with my pockets full of coins. If someone can hear me walking up by the sound of the change in my pockets, there's something seriously wrong. And yet, I see (hear, really) people doing it all the time.

Oh, I've been into bars like that before. I wonder how much of the money placed on the walls ends up in other people's pockets?

There is a restaurant in Atlantic City called Bill's Gyros that is papered wall to wall and floor to ceiling with paper currency. Table tops, the bar, chair backs, etc. are all covered. It is pretty neat to see as much of the currency is foreign.

Someone gave me this penny wreath (lei in Hawaiian) when I graduated from the University of Hawaii. The school colors are green & white.

I save and invest them. Ask any average American and they will think that's strange.

Me too. I have 3 coin banks on my dresser. When all three are full, I dump them in a bag and take them to be counted and converted to "real" money. I used to go to Commerce/TD bank where they counted them for free. They no longer do that so I go to Coinstar where there is no fee if you redeem for a gift card instead of cash. I just get an Amazon card since we shop there regularly.

The other thing I do is pull out all of the quarters when we go to the shore to play in the arcade there.

Those are truly impressive. A very unique art form.
