  • do you shop food outlets?

i shop them a lot, out here in ca. we have a store called grocery outlet. they sell stuff thats overstocked at local grocery stores, some of the stuff is close to expiratio date. last week i picked up 15# of bacon for .99/lb and 24# of farmer johns bratwursts for .49/lb, they were both going out of date within a few more days but it didn't matter to me because they are going into the freeze. some other goodies from the same store: aplle pie filling 3 cans $1, coffee mate vanilla creamer $1.49 a bottle, real butter $1/lb, bags of frozen french fries for .49

i also shop the day old orowheat bread store where everything is $1, and a great dollar store thats 30 miles away with lots of fresh produce just wondering if you guys shop these discount grocery places

I don't. Don't really have time to run around to different stores. Getting to the regular grocery store every week is enough of a challenge. I have no objection to these places at all. If there was one conveniently located, I'm sure I'd stop by now and then.

I don't know where anything like that is. Years ago I visited a "train salvage" store that had just a little food, but mostly nonfood items. It was a peculiar place, but fascinating.

Yes, we have a Grocery Outlet close by. We do have to take a bus to get to it, so we go around once a month. Big Lots is a good one to check out as well.

Nope. Not one nearby. Wish there were even better grocery stores. They suck where I am.

I love Grocery Outlet! I jump from store to store to save the most money that I can, since my bus pass is a flat monthly rate I can travel as much as I like without having to worry about the cost of gas. Walmart is awesome too because they will price match an ad so instead of jumping around you can just go there and bring your ads. Food is so overpriced, there are some groceries stores I'd rather die than shop at.
