I need something to use infrequently (maybe weekly or biweekly) to help reconcile my account with my daily iphone expense tracker (currently dollarbird for iOS). I use an expense tracker on my phone to enter daily receipts. It can export csv with the following columns: type (planned/executed - how the app handles future vs paid expenses), date, category, price, note.
I'd like to have a program that pulls transaction data from my bank (ally, capital one cc + merrick cc) and I can just slap my tracker csv into it and have it auto-match/clear everything that it can then just bother me with the non-obvious matchings to manually figure out. I'd do this weekly or biweekly to catch errors in banking or find transactions I forgot to enter in my daily expense tracker.
Considerations:
1. My dates won't always match up because I use a PayPal debit card to get 1% cashback on everything, so all my transactions show as "PayPal xfer" and are delayed a day or two by the time it actially hits my Ally checking acct. So the auto-reconcile would have to rely more on sequence/dollar amount than 100% matching dates or payee descriptions.
2. It WOULD be a bonus to have the software respect the categories specified in the expense tracker csv. While that app does have category charts/analysis, it'd be good to have a long-term software for this too. This would be nice, but is not a deal maker/breaker
3. Windows+Mac support and stable long-term outlook on the dev would be nice.
