  • Just a little help please

I was happily married in August of 05. After long talks with DH I have decided to leave my long time job for many reasons. I don't get to spend time with him is the main reason. I work 6 days a week soe days some nights and he always has the same schedule. But no matter how I tried I couldn't get my schedule to meet in the middle somewhere. So after saving 2 months of bill money my last day is the 8th. I have a job with W*st but I don't think that will keep me entertained all day. I don't have much or any experience in data entry. I would love to do it but don't know many companies that will hire with little or no eperience. Basically I am looking for work at home suggestions. You guys are the best so I thought I would come here.

err no clue, but if you have a dream, a passion or hobby now would be the time to start it, free time no kids, wow.

course when I had free time and no kids, I really wasn't all that motivated about my silly dream! (making a curriculum that I didn't have to fudge, preferably one that was cusitomizable by computer..nevermind, never gonna happen)

I agree with Princess, find something you love to do and go from there. Take a class in something that inspires you. Beware of "work at home" scams. You should be very cautious of companies that want money from you up front.

I think you made a wise decision. You can be fulfilled as a wife and homemaker. I would suggest you analyze your desire and pursue formal education. I know it is expensive, but it is worth it in the long run. You will become a professional and in the future when you have children your career will help with the bills. I looked at the stay at home stuff and found all to be scams. Remember EVERYONE has something to sell. When you understand that they can't scam you. Let us know what you decide.

I remember thinking if I had time I'd....OK, I reached a point in time where I was at home , no kids, just basic time and what did I do, I had another kid!! Seriously, Princess is right, follow your dream (in retrospect that is what I did, always wanted 10 kids and am closer now) Write a book, develop a product, what ever.

Could you work part time outside the home, maybe doing something you really enjoy?

Re: Just a little help please

My suggestion is to becaome really skilled at cutting expenses rather than earning.

What I mean is- learn how to cut the grocery bill (coupons, rebates and cooking from scratch)...learn how to cut insurance, phone and cable bills, etc by challenging every expense...

If your mind set is to work from home, consider checking with small business owners who may just need someone to answer phones or to do bookeeping and computer work. We have a small business and do most of this ourselves, but none of us are good at creating websites...so we outsource...look for outsource opportunities...

Consider your demographics....do you like to cook, tutor, are you skilled with computers, etc... this day in age, there are all sorts of needs out there...find your niche...which, as others have stated, usually start by doing something you love...keep an open mind and be creative in your thinking.

I like thrift rays idea. get better at saving money initially, so you are good at it - then go about and try to sell stuff aorund the house that you don't want anymore. Ebay for the general stuff and HALF.com for the books - that'll take some time in front of the compuiter and generate you SOME money - not a LOT, but some.

Re: Just a little help please

Don't mean to be the one to throw cold water on your plans, but unless you are a professional with an existing talent/skill you've already honed from prior work experience, it is hard to find work at home work tht pays anything worthwile. I know all of us here daydream about how nice it would be to work at home, but work at home jobs that pay decently are hard to find.

I would suggest getting a part-time job you find interesting; at least it will be a steady paycheck, you'll gain valuable work experience and you can still arrange to be home when hubby gets home. Many part time jobs offer flexible hours so you can accommodate your schedule.
