Man, tough crowd in here (lol). Can't a person indulge in some bacon or mayo once in awhile (lol).

I agree with you. Everything in moderation. Should you eat bacon every single day? No. But having it every once in a while is fine.

I fouled up rice every time before buying my cheap rice cooker. I love it

When ordering Subway sandwiches, don't get avocado (unless you don't mind paying $1.50 more). Just checked my receipt and a foot long $6 oven roasted chicken sandwich came out to $7.50. Lessoned learned for me. Not cooking related but hope I can help save your money.

Edited to add: By the way I passed on the mayo, trying to avoid that quadruple by-pass later on in life (lol).

              Buy good, fresh food.

Use fresh herbs whenever you can.

Learn how to use a pressure cooker. It will tenderize the toughest foods in no time flat, and it saves time and fuel.

Learn how to roast a whole chicken. You will save a fortune buying the whole bird (usually available for $.99 or $.89 a pound) versus cut up pieces (can be up to $9.99/lb where I live). Tip: BRINING.

Some will disagree with this, but I never buy meat in bulk and freeze it. IMO the texture is completely ruined by freezing.

Look up the USDA recommended food storage practices, and don't exceed them -- unless you want to risk a trip to the Urgent Care.
