What does everyone use to track their net worth? Right now I have a spreadsheet in Excel, but I have to look up the numbers every month to enter them. Anyone have some good suggestions of programs that you can import your data to directly from the Internet?

Re: tracking net worth
If you have a Vanguard account, you can add your non-Vanguard assets as "outside assets": short-term reserves, stocks, bonds, and other (home equity, for example). The main page of your account then shows your total net worth, and a pie chart showing your asset allocation.

Re: tracking net worth
Does it show your debts too though? I am looking for something to track the monthly changes in the following:
checking and savings accounts
retirement accounts (mine and DH's Roth IRAs, his IRA)
debts: car loan, student loans
Thanks!

Re: tracking net worth
I have MS Money but I just use Excel for all my stuff since I find it quick, easy and portable. So far its done fine for my purposes since I track the progress every 3 months or so.
Another option would be to download stuff into Money or Quicken.

Re: tracking net worth
I also do most of my tracking on an excel spreedsheet, but I use Fidelity's Full View to look up information. You enter your passwords/log in for each type of account you want tracked. I have all my online savings accounts, my brick and mortar bank account, credit cards, 401k, and IRA. By logging on to Fidelity I can see all the different accounts without having to go to a bunch of different websites. As far as I know you can't download the information, but it makes updating excel super simple (and it's free!).
If you have any investments with Fidelity I would recommend giving it a try. It will show balances, recent transactions, and calculate net worth.
Also, I think HSBC has a similar feature, but I haven't used it. If you don't have anything with Fidelity, I would recommend checking with the companies you do have retirement or investment accounts with. I believe a few different companies off a similar type of service.

Re: tracking net worth
And here I come, old grandma. I do mine by hand and have ever since I opened my first account many years ago. I have to turn it in every year when we renew our builder's license every year. So far, they have never turned it down.

Re: tracking net worth
I think there's something to be said for entering it in yourself. I think actually typing the number makes you more aware.
Of course, I haven't done this since July or so, so I think it's one of those things that is easy to say.

Re: tracking net worth
I do my tracking in handwritten books, monthly spending, bills, savings, capital investment and along with anything that I still owe money on. Some years ago I lost all my data so I am not happy to start over again for the third time, so it by hand only.I don't have Excel on my computer.
