First thing comes to mind is tools. Spent 500 on a electrical Snap-On impact gun, which I do not regret one bit for portability and convenience.

Picked up 2 24" LED monitors around tax time for my office. Actually thinking of getting another 2 more similar ones so I have 2 dual monitor systems for what I work on. Spent almost 200 on a APC ups setup for power backup. Thinking about getting 2 more of those.

Last big home theater purchase was on sale for $500 as a Emotiva processor (the one I wanted was 1800 but I couldn't justify). I already sold my Denon receiver for 300 so it was a good upgrade.

Most recent home DIY upgrade was $400 for tile alone in my 7x7 entry way. I could have gone with Daltile pattern/style for half the price couldn't find what I was looking for.
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"

My apartment rent. I could rent a place for $50 cheaper but I wanted a unit with my own washer and dryer so I could do laundry any time I wanted.

To save some money my apartment is right next to the pool so I save about $80 a month because of that, almost a wash.

Not sure it's a splurge if you end up saving money/breaking even on the purchase . I think the point of the splurge is the unnecessary expense.

We are frugal in most areas of our lives. We likely spend more than the average family on travel though.

I bought 3 tickets to see The Monkees play at the MN Zoo 2 summers ago. (Imagine trying to explain to people how excited you are to see The Monkees at the zoo). The tickets were $76 each after taxes and fees. My then 10 year old, my bf and I went. It was awesome! Davy Jones died the following spring and I'm so glad I got to see him perform so recently. We also bought overpriced T-shirts. I don't regret that either because, even though my son acted unimpressed at the concert, he has recently started wearing his t-shirt all the time and tells people he saw them live

Computer monitors... Always have to have a bigger one! Honestly anything tech related gets me to spend more than I should lots of the time.

                I can identify with that.

My most recent splurge was a GeForce GTX 780, which cost me $659. Man, I am not buying another GPU until this one melts.

Other than that, I have been pretty frugal in my living.

Great card! I'm getting back into gaming, and have my eye on the GTX 760, just waiting for it to go below $259
