I think you have to double any amount you come up with. She was getting her daughter's hair done.

But even with high end weave, I don't think it would come to 7000.00 I would say throw in maintenance products, but she doesn't look like she maintains anything at home during the week. I agree with you, its not coming up to 7K a year.

Now I get my hair done every week, simply because I'm just lazy in this regard, but then again, I'm not hiding bills, throwing them away, lying to my (non-existent) spouse and all the other bull this woman is doing. She seems to be very narcissistic which is another problem. You're right who cares how you look, but you do care about how you feel. To me, I care that my hair looks nice, I don't do it for anyone else EXCEPT me, and its the price I'm willing to pay, again not the detriment of anything else.

I don't understand where they got that $7000 figure for her hair. At $30 per week, that totals only $1560/year. Even if she has a relaxer perm and assuming she pays $75 every 6 weeks to get her relaxer retouched in addition to the $30 weekly visits, that's still only $2210 per year. If she's paying $125 for her relaxer retouches, that's still only $2643.75 per year. Where is she getting her hair done that's costing her $7000/year??? Something's not adding up.

I just thought about something...maybe she has a high-end weave job. You have to go get those weaves tightened every 6 to 8 weeks...I imagine that can get expensive, especially if she's using 100% human hair and her beautician is charging high prices to maintain it.

I'm guessing she's also getting: facials, waxing, manicures & pedicures. Someone that high maintainance does not stop at hair.

I used to get my nails done every 2 weeks. Acrylics. I think I paid $18 each time. If they had to redo all nails it was $25. Once in a while I would have a pedicure.

Gave it all up when my dog had to go on arthritis meds.

Funny, I gave it up for the dog and she can't give it up to save her family????

My fiance and I make about the same income as that couple, and I couldn't imagine living that lifestyle. We think of it as a treat to eat out once a week, much less every night. I'm not a parent, but I couldn't imagine being that self-indulgent if I did have children.

I get highlights and eybrow wax every six months for $80 with a cut in between for $20 I am good to go. I couldn't get my hair done every week. I hate sitting in the chair.

Good answer Katwoman, she can't give this up. she would rather get a divorce? We live on half on what they do and I think we live pretty well.

It cost my wife 40.00 + tip to get her hair done every 5 weeks. 2 times a year she gets color for 300.00 + tip.

The entire thing makes me sick!!! To be perfectly honest I hope they keep it up. If they wound up bankrupt, with crap credit, and got a little dose of humiliation maybe they'd learn to make better choices. Or at least find out what lifes really like.

I stick by my original statement that having these extreme cases doesn't do well for people that ARE in a bad situation but don't want to admit it, and then see these extremes, which convince them that their situation is acceptable.

It's a shame Oprah's people didn't find a couple who were serious about getting out of debt. These people are so irritating to watch -- especially the woman. Kicking the spending addiction is the same as any other addiction -- if you're not ready to do it, no on can make you or convince you to.

(And this probably should be a new thread, but did it tick anyone else off when Oprah and Nate redid Kirstie Alley's kitchen? I really like Kirstie, but she could afford to pay for it herself. Five or ten people could've gotten their kitchens redone for the cost of hers. Oh well, I guess that wouldn't have made good t.v.)

Those people are crazy!! That one woman who refused to sell her daughters 350 pairs of jeans. Are you kidding?? WHO needs 350 pairs of jeans for just themselves? I would be selling 346 of them on Ebay.

I forgot to add I only spend $80 every 6 weeks for color and cut on my hair so she is doing more than just her hair.
