  • Question re: referrals?

I know this info is around here somewhere, but I can't find it! Are we allowed to post referrals (it would be in my blog - "email me for a referral"). I found a neat site to make a little cash and I'd like to make more with referrals so I can add that $$ to my $20 challenge. Thanks!

Edited to add -- I would post a regular link to the site as well, and would just ask that anyone who wants to help me out with my savings challenge use me as a referral. Hope that makes sense!

Gosh Amy, I am new here and I don't know. Why don't you e mail Jeffery and ask him?

Referrals are not allowed in the forums. It just causes too many spam problems.

Nate and I are discussing about allowing them in the blogs. What we'll probably do is set up an area in your control panel where you can input the URL and it will show up on your side bar, but we're still working on that. Give us some time to work out the details and we'll let you know when that is live for you to use. Thanks

I thought that you wouldn't be able to include referral links as these are normally just like an affiliate link.

As stated above, affiliated and referral links are not allowed in the forums. The blogs are written by individuals who are recording their own finances and what they are doing to get ahead. We consider the two fairly separate entities. We are still working on a way to implement it, but will likely make a list of approved programs that can be placed in the sidebar of the blog (ones that we feel would benefit the finances of the person signing up). What we want to avoid is people writing posts just to try and get referrals as this is not helpful for anyone involved and that is why we're taking some time to figure out how to implement it.
