I most admire business people like Bill Gates of Microsoft and Ted Turner (TBS) who have chosen to use the billions they've amassed to do some good in the world through philanthropy.

Re: Who do you Most Admire?
After Jesus the person I most admire is Paul. He did a rather dramatic life change, was able to live with his past mistakes, and worked diligently, in spite of an infirmity, for the Lord. If you mean people who are alive today and keep in mind that my DH is first (after all he puts up with me) it would have to be my DD, SIL, DS#1 and DIL. He just got back from Iraq and is raising several children not all of which are theirs. My DD is incredible and is raising little ones I am so proud of I don't have the words to express it.

I admire the Dalai Lama. He lives in exile and still does so much for the world. I admire anyone who lives a simple life and gives everything they can for the betterment of humanity. The Dalai Lama is just one example, but there are plenty of great people right in our own backyards. I'm trying to be one.

david bonior. former congressmen from michigan. he helped when i needed it most. he listened with a concerned ear. A good man and an environmentalist. i admire anyone who does good things when they are famous. being from detroit, i read in the papers there, when shaun michaels and marty genetty from wrestling formed a reading group. they went to hospitals everywhere and read to children. i respect bill gates as well and think its criminal how hes been treated and sued as a monopolist. bill clinton did gr8 work for kids and support as well. i dont like people like rush limbaugh. to me hes a hypocryte and with no compassion. im glad hes not in any political position to make things worse. everyone gave bill clinton hard time, i mean if cheating on his wife was such a crime to be releaved of duty, then someone tell me why a kennedy was ever in office.lol.

Re: Who do you Most Admire?
Honestly? My mother, although we're so much alike at times that we fight and don't speak occasionally her true grit to overcome any hardship is amazing!
My dad left when I was 14 and left her with a LOAD of debt, even ran up charges at local stores and left her with them, she had my brother (10 and handicapped) and me to raise, a mortgage, no college education and refused to let it get her down. She held her head up, scraped, sold her beloved house and downsized, worked her tail off, continued for 25 years to pay the insurance premiums on my dad come heck or high water, didn't dispair when he cashed in the PERS account that should have been part hers, raised us without killing us (LOL with the way I behaved that should put her up for saint hood!) Has built up a sizeable amount of money for retirement and raise a total of 4 children (two older were out of the house) that are financially independent and productive adults!
I also admire my hubby who has the patience of a saint for living with meCan fix anything, find anything, trade for anything and not holler when I'm tight with money. This is the man that when I joked I'd like a fire hydrant for the dogs he came home with one within a week at NO cost, just a trade with a friend, so I now watch what I ask for, lol!
