  • Cheapest fast food restaurants

What are the restaurants have the best deals for value and what are these deals? I know that fast food isn't what I should be eating all the time, but there are certain times when it's the most convenient option. If I am going to be choosing to eat fast food, I'd like to get the best value from it. That is why I'm asking this question. What fast food joints have the best deals on food and give the best value for the buck?

Most of them are very competitive with each other.

Most of the times they have a 99 cent menu or $1 menu you can over a full meal for $2 and drink water instead of pop.

Also look for specials during the slow days, sometimes local restaurants or bars will have great food specials to get you to come in the door. A great way to save money

I find if I get the $5 foot long sub from Subway with one kind of meat and load it with every veggie they have (but jalapeno), I can make that sandwich last for 4 meals (or 3 if I'm really hungry). No soda or chips with it, though. The double cheeseburger from McDonalds for $1.51 (we have tax, so that's the after tax price) with a cup of free water does me fine at lunch time. Taco Time has crisp beef tacos for .99. Taco Bell has them (I think) for .79, but they are a bit smaller. Wendy's has a lot of things for .99. KFC you can get one dark piece of chicken by itself for .99 or a small potato and gravy for $1.29.

I find it's often cheaper to stop into a grocery store deli though. Ours has two pieces of chicken for $1, or you can get a corn dog for a $1, or a really big order of jo joes (baked, spiced potato wedges for a $1. And stores like AM/PM attached to gas stations, you can usually get a hot dog or a hamburger or nachos for pretty cheap.

Of course, cost of living may be higher where you are, and pretty much none of this food is good for you. I'd rather run into a grocery store and buy a loaf of bread and some turkey or roast beef from the deli (they will sell it to you by the slice) and make myself a sandwich. I always have mustard packets and some plastic flatware in the car. I also keep whole wheat club crackers, a box of easy to eat dry cereal, some peanut butter rice bars, a small container of peanut butter, some totally unhealthy spray on cheese, and a container of cashews, so if I get stuck out somewhere and I am starving, I can just dig in my emergency box and at the very least have a bit of protein and a bit of carb to keep me going. I mostly keep it for the kids, but I've dug into it enough times to know it's a good thing to have on hand for me, too.

Little Ceasars, they have large pepperonis for $5 which feeds my family for 2 meals. Can't beat that price.

Taco Bell has $2.79 meal deals -- a burrito, soda, and bag of doritos. I'll sometimes go to burger king with my pb&j and a water and just order a side of fries

Wendy's used to have a great meal combo but they seemed to have doubled their prices for the same quality of meal but saying it's all fresh, so I stopped going.

I love the Little Caesars hot-n-now pizzas for 5 bucks. Plus I don't have to wait for it to be cooked. Just grab it and go.
But I guess I need to not eat the whole thing......LOL

Here's another vote for Subway. I like how they post the nutritional content and calories, and how you can control exactly what goes into your sandwich. So if you're watch your calories, it's a healthy alternative.

I'm a big subway fan but I think Taco Bell is cheaper if you stick to regular tacos. White Castle is gotta be up there too.

White Castle had a great marketing boost from that movie Harold and Kumar

I like Wendy's and McD's. I can get a fair amount of food there for a good price.

In my area Wendy's used to have a $1.99 menu that included chicken nuggets, frosties, fries and burgers, which I thought was pretty cheap. I have no idea if it's still around since the closest Wendy's closed down.

I'd say dollar menus and the Little Cesars deal are definitely your best bet. I know you already acknowledged that you shouldn't be eating fast food and you're doing it because it's convenient, but I promise you can eat non-fast food conveniently too!

It takes approximately 1 min to make a sandwich and, provided you don't carry it around all day in the Sahara, you can take them anywhere. If you eat a PB sandwich you can even go to the Sahara with it! Buy a bag of baby carrots, they're less than $1.50 and carry some around with you in a ziplock bag.
