She gives gifts she won at online sweeps games as xmas presents the upside was she is 40 & debt free no mortgage & no cc debt!!

I thought she was really a neat lady wondering what others thought suze didnt really care much for her ways but I think this women was really onto something. I do the same kinda thing well I give away things I have gotten free using coupons & got online or however else I got it free. I see nothing wrong with this I think its great especially if it means u dont go into debt over xmas!!

i think it's a great idea, but like suze said, make sure the person actually needs the item you are giving them. i dislike for people to give me things i can't use and when people go away on vacation and ask what can they bring me back, i say just yourself or a postcard is fine. i don't need 100 mugs from around the world because that's more for me to wash or take care or find a space for. in addition to being frugal, i'm also on the neat side and don't like clutter. i like suze's idea of just having a closet and letting people pick what they NEED. i could probably use the pine sol over cheerios. lol.

That episode re-aired tonight. I think the sweeps lady had a great idea, but I agree with Suze in that she should still put some thought into what she gives to people. If she knows 100% that they'll get some use out of the gift, then by all means, give it away! But that FedEx towel?? I wouldn't want that as a gift! The Fandango tickets sounded like a good idea... as long as the recipient gets to pick the movie (I don't remember it coming up either way) I'd even take that big bottle of PineSol instead of a bottle of wine, especially since I rarely drink!

I've given people gift certificates that I've won... but they were always for places they already shop. They just happen to be places *I* don't shop! I even gave a friend a gift certificate (that I won) to a restaurant that we were going to dine at later that day. That way, she was sure to use it, and I could pay for her meal without going over a certain amount!

I saw it and agreed with Suze about making sure that the gifts where going to be appreciated by their recipients.

I also read the book that Suze was sending her...'The Contest Winner'. It's based on a true story, and a really good read!

I don't want people giving me gifts that they have won. I like to pick our my own "things" I think a gift certificate to a favorite restaurant is nice, other than that, I really don't want any thing. I like to watch Suze but I never seem to find her on tv any more.
