I just got our electric bill I knew July would be a huge month. I normally like to cut the A/C off during the day but that didn't happen too often here. We were in the midst of another record breaking heatwave but my bill was only about $91 for a 1200 sq ft home. We keep the A/C between 72 and 78 degrees.

I think a better question is: How much are your utilities combined?

Ours is a bit higher than anyone here has stated (this month was $255) but we have NO other utilities.....we have no gas in our home and no water (we are on a well, so that electric bill includes the water pump.)

Our house is just over 4,000 sq. ft.

I wish! I have a 900sq feet and I pay sep. bills for electric, heating oil and kerosene for my stove, combined it's easily $400 a month.

Very hot here, and bill is higher than it should be.
