Wow! I had a ton of change here up until last month. I opened up a savings account with Commerce Bank & I use their free coin counting machine to fund so I won't have to roll coins anymore

My son rolls my coins on a regular basis and then I deposit them into my Christmas Club account. I've been doing it for years, but each year as I stay at home more, I have less and less change since I'm not out spending money.

Rolled coins have been a great way for my CJ to get his savings started. However, I just do the manual labour and roll them myself. No worries

I'd rather pay the fee at the change machine than count/roll them myself

Our change holder is fairly small. When it gets full, I tend to get about $18-$20 total out of it.

I don't carry a lot of cash anymore, so I don't get as much change as I used to, but I still save it.

I also use our change to help DD when she needs a few extra coins to finish up a roll from her change jar. Her aunt and grandparents often give her change to split between her saving bank and spending jar.

If you have a Commerce Bank nearby, you can use the machine for free. They don't charge a fee, and you don't have to have an account there.

Rolling the coins can be a fun rainy afternoon activity. It is a cheap way to spend time talking and getting something done. I have done it many times.

Our bank won't take rolled coins anymore. I throw all my change in a jar, except pennies. I spend them just to get rid of them. I usually get close to $100 for my change. I use this money to pay extra on a land payment that I have. I bought a nice mountain view lot and financed it thru the bank. I have already paid off $26,000 of the principal this past year.
