I am tired of being broke and not having enough money to do the things that I want to do. I don't think it's fair, especially since all my friends are able to do what they want. It is embarrassing not being able to go out with them because my credit card will be rejected if I try to use it anywhere. I wish i could make this all go away and start over!!

You've posted a couple of different places about being upset with your situation. That is certainly the first step in fixing the problem. As Dave Ramsey says, you have to be sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Stop comparing yourself to other people. They may earn more. They may have parents who send them money every month. They may have inherited money when a grandparent died. Or they may be up to their eyeballs in debt and you just don't know it.
There are a lot of us here who are happy to help you work through your debt situation but, as I said in your other thread, you need to provide some details.
Give us a breakdown of your current income, monthly expenses and extent of your debts with balances, interest rates and minimum payments. Then we can suggest a plan of attack that will help you clean up the mess and start moving forward toward a more financially sound future.Steve

I found myself in your shoes years ago. I have never regretted giving up many of my luxuries to get out of debt and build an emergency fund. You need to establish a financial plan and stick to it. One day soon, you will have the peace that comes with being debtfree, having savings for hardships and steady growth for your future.
Once you get on this path, you will have the money to spend time with your friends, yet you will have a new found resistence to wasteful spending.
I had my moment as you have stated, I made the most of it and am not looking back.

I apologize for sounding condescending, and you may just be venting. But it's difficult to hear others complain about expecting certain entitlements in life and not taking responsibilities for their actions."I'd buy that for a dollar!"

Come on, this isn't this type of person who comes to a savings advice forum. People who come here want to learn and to better their situation. This person has spent 3+ months complaining about being broke and avoiding taking the blame for his financial situation.

Well first of all, stop spending more than you make. You can't go negative doing things you like. Just try and save for them this will give you something to look forward to. Life is what you make it and if you make it negative (money wise or attitude) that's what it will be.

A very helpful yet hard thing to do is to change your mindset. Being in a financially difficult situation can be, and is for most people extremely frustrating. Being that you're in the current situation, if you focus on all the good that you have, it will make things much easier, and help you get through this rough period. If your mind is settled and is accepting to your situation, you can then focus more clearly on your future, and learn how to get out of it. A positive outlook can go a very long way.

Are you physically and mentally healthy?
Do you have friends whose company you enjoy?
Do you have a roof over your head and are not homeless?
Whether you live in a rural or urban area, going to a park is a wonderful getaway. When was the last time you were at your public library? There are zillions of books and magazines for you to read and check out. It's generally a great time to buy fresh, delicious fruits and vegetables from your local farmer's market.
Money is nice to have, for sure, but when you don't have it, concentrate on what you do have and take advantage of every opportunity you can to enjoy life.
