  • tell us your THANKSGIVING plans?

I have nothing planned.... usually, my husband and I make a big turkey dinner for the guys that live in our affordable housing and the men that are staying at the shelter..... I'm not so sure about this year. It's a lot of work for two people to feed 20+ men. And It's not like a get a day off to prepair for the big meal and another day off to relax after all that work. So we are not sure what we are going to do for thanksgiving.

    WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS???

        No idea

But on the shelter, can you get one or two trustworthy (and showerable) men to help? it is for them after all.

Not to hard to learn how to chop potatoes, or whatever. couple instructions, some supervision, might be good for them and all.

We are driving down to spend the holiday with DH's aunt. We usually spend it with my family. He has been bugging me for years to go down for either Thanksgiving or xmas. Thanksgiving doesn't entail presents!!

We will stay home just us here & dh will probably make something. I never cook thanksgiving dinner anymore that got old really fast especially when thier are only a few here to eat it. My oldest will be at her dads house that day so it will just be my dh & my 2 youngest daughters & dh may have to work that day who knows but I try to think on that day about all I am thankful for my family my house never going hungry.

I also read the ads all day & figure out where I will be on BF for free stuff the stores give

We're having thanksgiving at our house for the first time with both of our families (my mom finally agreed to let someone else do it). Making 2 turkeys, one deep fried and one in the oven, and lots of other dishes. Can't wait to eat until I explode!

My boyfriend and I are driving 6 hours to my parents house for the weekend. It will be a low key thanksgiving with me, him, my parents, and my sister. And my parents dog and 2 cats.

I have to work from 7 pm Wed night until 7:30 am Thanksgiving morning, so I will be going home from work and taking a nap for a couple of hours. Then my husband, my father, and I will be driving 40 miles or so to my cousin's house, where my father's family are gathering for a carry in dinner. We usually have somewhere between 30-50 people present. Cousin and his wife will cook the turkey and mashed potatoes and maybe a couple more side dishes; the rest of us will carry in 2-3 or more dishes plus drinks, paper plates, cups, etc.. There will be tables set up in the garage, and the food will be served buffet style. We each have our special dishes to bring; mine are 1) layered taco dip and chips 2) noodles 3) chocolate pie 4) honey rolls 5) broccoli salad.

Our family holds several get-togethers each year; New Year's Day is at my Uncle Ivan's, Easter and the fall weenie roast are at my house, Thanksgiving is at cousin Bill's, Christmas day and sometimes the 4th of July is at cousin Laurie's. We also hold get togethers when one of the kids comes home on leave from the service, or when a family member from out of state comes to visit. Always a good time!

The same thing we do every year...dinner at 1pm at my brother and SIL's house (next door) and then leave with the kids about 2:30 to drive to DH's parent's house in Binghamton. Dinner there is at 6pm. So we get two dinners!

This is the first thanksgiving since 1965 that we have not had any children with us. They are all grown up and have their own homes and none live in our city. Usually some of them make it home for the holiday but so far this year it looks like we will be alone. We thought about going out of town, but have decided to just stay home and go out to eat. We plan on doing some special inexpensive little things throughout the week just for fun.

Visiting with Family and neighbors. It will be nice to take some time to catch up with everyone.

Up here in New Hampshire it's been very rainy and somewhat miserable for the past month. Hopefully it will be a dry Thanksgiving!
