  • Stores not crowded this weekend

We didn't go out on Black Friday but both Saturday and today we were out and the stores were pretty quiet. Yesterday, we were at a mall in Philadelphia and it was pretty dead. Today, we were at Target and I think there were more employees than customers. Granted, both days we were there on the early side, before noon, but I still expected them to be busier. It will be interesting to see how the retail numbers turn out this season.

I was in Sears on Black Friday and it was not as busy as I thought it would have been. Seemed slow to me.

We went to Walmart on Black Friday, mid afternoon, and it wasn't very busy. Went late afternoon today (Sunday) and it was annoyingly packed.

when visiting stores focus on the shelves- my wife went late on black friday (10:30 am) and the stores were all picked over.

we went out again on Saturday and shelves were restocked, plus traffic was a mess- our malls were busy.

I must say that the Target around here seemed to have an average amount of traffic for the weekend. I went there this afternoon (Sunday) and the parking lot looked like a normal Sunday crowd.

My brother-in-law is a Black Friday shopper of many years and he explained that between 5 - 7 am, it's a madhouse. Then from 8 to 10 am it's quiet with the early shoppers having gone home. Then it gets busy again around noon for a few hours and then simmer down for the rest of the afternoon.

The Kmart that I work at part time was super busy all weekend long. Black Friday sales were up 10% from last year, and the weekend was up 15% from last year.

The mall I went to was INSANE all those days. We even had to park in the parking lot of a grocery store nearby.

I think Texas is doing relatively well.

I went out on Black Friday afternoon, and it was bustling, but not a lot more than a usual Friday. Then again, maybe the places certain people shop at just attract different kinds of crowds?

Last weekend was the end of the month - unless they saved for Black Friday, most are out of money. The first weekend of the month is always nuts because many people get their check around the first. I won't shop this coming weekend, but may the one after that.

My wife works at Macy's. Her store was busy as hell. They exceeded their sales goals and the place was a total zoo on Black Friday and most of the weekend. It'll be interesting to see how the rest of the month shapes up.
