  • IPhone app that will start earning me money

I knew it was just a matter of time until I found a way to earn more with my iPhone than it cost me each month to have the thing. A few weeks ago, I got an invitation to join a medical market research panel that has a program that is offered exclusively as an iPhone app. The offer was that if they accepted you for the panel, you could either use your own iPhone if you have one and they'd pay $150/month or, if you don't have an iPhone, they would provide one for you and pay $100/month. Since I already have one, I submitted my application with that option.

I got an e-mail today that my application was accepted and I can start doing the necessary reporting functions tomorrow (or as soon as I set everything up). I already downloaded the app and just have to read through the user's guide. So the $30/month fee I pay to AT&T to have the iPhone will now be completely covered by the $150/month I will earn through this program. In fact, that will cover our entire cell phone bill for all 3 of us and then some.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

There are certainly a slew of apps that can help you save money. You can use the phone to comparison shop while in a store. There are a bunch of coupon apps that let you pull up coupons right on the phone that a cashier scans from the screen. There are apps that replace a stand-alone GPS device. You can use the phone to research the value of items you see at a yard sale to see if you could resell them on ebay. And I'm sure there are more that I haven't discovered or thought of yet.

That's really cool. What app is it? I'm interested.

I was one of eight selected last month to participate in a marketing study for a series of new products up for release. At first I didn't think it was legitimate but it sure was. I showed up to a marketing research office and after 2 hours of sharing my opinion, paid $125 dollars.

It is a company called Impact Network. They do market research for the pharmaceutical firms. This program is only for physicians and you can only participate by invitation so I can't even refer any of my doctor friends (which I can with most of the other survey programs I do).

Wow, our cell phone bill is $165/month for just two of us! How do you swing $150/month for three users, including the data plan required for the iPhone?? Granted, we are on T-Mobile, but I always thought T-Mo was cheaper than AT&T... hmmm...

Actually, our total bill is about $175 and that is for 5 of us. We have one of the AT&T family plans. We do get a small employer discount from my wife's job but even without that, the total bill would still be under $200. I'm amazed when I hear what many others spend for their cell phones.

I'm actually developing an iPhone app that will save people money. Can't wait to tell you all about it once it's done!

congrats steve, glad to hear about your fortunate find. I hope the work isnt too big of an inconvenience, but for $150 a month, you can definitely justify a little extra work.

Last week was my first week using the program. It is a bit of a pain but really not too intrusive into my workflow. I've already e-mailed the developers once with a suggestion to streamline the interface. If they're smart, they'll work it into a future update of the app. Overall, though, I got the hang of it very quickly and can just take half a minute between patients to do the necessary reporting.
