After recently talking to our financial planner he advised us that we should set up a will and trust and other related documents. I was wondering if any of you have used the Suze Orman Will & Trust Kit for this? Our advisor recommended an attorney, but I'm thinking this kit may be fine for our needs. Thanks in advance for any input on this.

I am probably going to be odd one out, but I HIGHLY recommend hiring an attorney to make sure everything is done correctly. Most especially if you have kids. I honestly don't see much redeeming about will software and will kits, etc. (Well, only that they are better than nothings. Sometimes).
A caveat - I live in a complex state, legally - California. I feel extra strongly about this as far as anyone who lives in California.
A good compromise is to start with a kit and then have a GOOD attorney review it. If nothing else, they may be able to gain your confidence by pointing out all the potential unintended consequences of a "fill it in will." Or they may say "good job," and you may save some money. I would at the least get a legal opinion.
If I didn't own property or have kids, I would probably place less emphasis on the need for legal counsel. But if I had multiple marriages over time, kids, property, or wanted to leave money to my heirs in a different way than laws would assign without a will, I would definitely want legal counsel.

I'd suggest checking out US Legal Forms or LegalZoom to find the appropriate documents for your family and your state. If nothing else, at least for comparison with the kit Suze endorses.
Having said that, I'll also second the previous poster's suggestion that often, for piece of mind if nothing else, it is just worth it to hire an attorney. Of course, you still have to make sure your attorney gets it right and has listened to you and understood your wishes.
