  • some ppl make me wonder.....

So I listed my car for sale on Craigslist and less than 5 minutes later some guy is emailing me telling me that I am selling it too cheap and that i must be crazy to let it go for that... beleive me I already looked it up on Kelley blue book... I told him I could raise the price if he wanted to pay more.. lol

Don't most normal ppl try and talk you down not up?

I wonder if that individual doesn't have something similar to sell, and wants you to drive your own price up?

Or am I being too cynical?

Well, let's see if he follows up with a note to say he wants to come see it. Then when he sees it, he will say, "Oh, but I didn't know there was this, that, and the other wrong with the car. So really I can only offer you half what you are asking." Trying to set himself up as someone knowledgeable and honest with the first message, someone who would never want to see _you_ lose out in sale value.

      PS--BA is probably right.

I'm guessing he's just messing with you. The quick replies usually are. I agree with BA, he could be selling something similar in the paper or on craigslist...and your price undercuts his.

          Good luck!

No, I think you are right. He must have a similar deal going on and didn't want his potential buyers to go to you. Or may be he was just too bored on the internet and decided to give you some of his special advise.

That's one of the things I hate about listing on craigslist. Usually get a lot of stupid responses like that. I have some stuff I'm selling and seems like I always get the same email..."Don't sell your stuff, call me about debt consolidation." Easy delete.

I actually had this happen to me. We listed a car and had someone email us and they actually called us dumb and that we needed to raise the price. I emailed them back that if they wanted to buy it and resell it for profit go for it. never heard from them but did get other emails suggesting I list my car on these sites that would make me soooo much more money. I think these people do this to get us to email back and confirm for a mailing list.
