  • how do I remove rust from my sink?

I know I am an idiot for leaving a can in my kitchen sink with water in it.

But how do I get the rust off? (stainless steel sink, elbow grease is not effective)

Lime Away, CLR, vinegar (probably will have to let it soak with vinegar) . . .sensing an acid theme?

Ajax or Comet should work too.

Auto store carries a product called 'navel jelly'. About $3 a bottle. Works wonders on rusty garage sale items!

I would also try plain old toothpaste and an old toothbrush.

Thanks I ll start with the vinegar then baking soda (I have them in the house)

Ok I have toothpaste to, but the thought of cleaning rust with something that is for teeth, err, gonna haunt me when I brush for awhile .
