Regular was $2.58 per gallon on Monday
On Thursday, the same station was charging $3.17

Thursday's local news showed some local Mom & Pop gas stations that had run out of gas. I think things are going to get a lot worse before they get better.

I am wondering if DH can bike the 20 minutes to work , but I honestly have no idea if he can ride a bike! anyway we don't own one.

Last night we got 9 gallons for 30$, and we got it cause there is a good chance the gas will run out around here. (1 in 5 stations is already out in charlotte)

I reported gas price over here at 2.67 a few days ago..(8/30) well... now it's 3.09 and rising. So much for budgeting :/

CT Governor Dick Blumenthal was at a capitol press briefing yesterday calling for 1) a federal investigation into possible price gouging by the oil companies and surging oil/gas prices (gas doubled in price in 48 hours) and 2) an excess profits tax on oil companies to rein in the ridiculous increases

You Americans have it good. Sure the prices have gone up but it is much less than what we pay in New Zealand. We pay $154.90/Litre (NZD) Convert that to US gallons and you have $5.86/gallon (NZD). If we now convert this to the US dollar, it is <big><b>$4.10/gallon (USD). </big></b>

I can't believe how much the price has gone up in the past few months. Thank goodness, I able to ride a bicycle to work, my wife is able to walk to work and the kids walk to school.

It's all relative. If you're used to paying $1.97 and then it's $2.50, then it's $3.10 you start to feel the pinch.

$3 for the cheap stuff in town, but I went to Walmart, used my discount and got it for $2.85. As I was pulling out, Walmart changed their price to $3 a gallon.

We live in Canada...just paid $1.15 per litre at Superstore which gives a 7.5 cent rebate per litre to use towards groceries.
I have no idea what it would be in gallons.
We're on the west coast and would love to know the prices in other parts of Canada! Ouch!
