  • Chase Special Rewards

My Chase CC was about to expire so they sent me a new one. Which is great because I hadn't even known. With it came a flyer about a new rewards program in which you get double the points- for a slight monthly charge of 4.99. I laughed at it and threw that crap away. I cannot even imagine paying for the privilege of 2 points for every dollar instead of one. Maybe if I used the card for everything, I might eventually come out even (I forgot the math on this) but, yeah it seems like a load of crap. I don't ever want to give Chase the benefit of $1 of my money, greedy moneygrubbers.

Especially when 1500 points equal up to $10 and every $1 earns you one point. I should hope that the $5 you pay gives you 10 points, lol!! Anyway, just wondering if anyone has done something like this and if it was worth it for you. I know it wouldn't be in my case!

Straight to the shredder if I got this. My Chase renewed in Sept and I did not get. Of cours, I happen to charge about $120/year on this card.

Its the one I use for my automatic purchases and any online purchases.

If I calculate that right, you'd have to charge $4500 just to make up the $60 in fees.

It sounds like right now you are only getting a 0.6667% rebate. Ten dollars back, for every $1500 spent, you say?

That's right! $1500 for $10 in rewards. So sad!
