I agree 100% with you RedTBird. I dont care if people call me frugal or not, Im just interested in the connotation of the word. I like to save money and spend what I have wisely.

For example, Im not that tall but I dont really like being called "vertically challenged." I dont mind my height, but would rather just be called short.

I can't stand the whole "potically correct" concept. If I'm not offended by a term, why should anyone else be? If you want to call me frugal, that's perfectly fine with me.

I do not mind being called "frugal" in the least. However, I am very much against people trying to be PC or, worst still, try to make me be PC.

            frugal is the new cool

i think being frugal has actually become fashionable lately - with everybody in the same boat who cares about being frugal, its the new in thing

I consider being called frugal as much a compliment as someone saying that I'm responsible, which is a closely related word. I don't mind a bit. I wonder if the goverment would be offended, or maybe embarassed is a better word, to be called frugal

I don't mind at all; much better than being called cheap.

Yeah, I would also feel complimented if someone called me "frugal". But not cheap.

Frugal is an old fashion expression, I like our traditional heritage.

Frugal doesn't seem to have many negative connotations esp. in today's economy. I don't see why it wouldn't be PC, since I've never heard large groups of people complain about being called frugal by non-frugal people.

I much prefer frugal to cheap, and like to think there is a considerable difference

You are so right...people I work with are bragging how they are saving money by taking lunches and making their own coffee...things I've done for years and they've made fun of me for!

Yeah I have noticed that. People who just a couple years ago didnt care at all about economy products are excited to be using them now, like they are the first to discover it. Kinda like all the businesses cashing in on the "green" trend.
