I was walking down to the local shopping center yesterday when I saw a shoe in the middle of the road. It wouldn't usually be a big deal except it was apparent that the cars driving down the street weren't realising that it was a shoe and were swerving to miss it. The erratic driving looked to me like it was going to cause an accident. So I waited for the traffic to lighten up, ran into the road and grab the shoe and threw it to the side so it was not an issue for the drivers anymore.
It seems to me that lately people have been a lot more stressed out and I assume a lot of that has to do with current economic conditions. I also know that it is usually simple things that can change the course of someone's day and rarely do they cost any money. Opening a door for somone, helping to pick up items that someone has dropped or letting somone go ahead of you.
I'd love to hear what other simple, no cost actions that people do/have done to help others so that I can add them to my list of ways to help others.
