Good timing on resurrecting this thread. 'Tis the season for graduation.
I'd give whatever you feel comfortable with. Any gesture, money or not, is good.
Back then as a teenager/grad, it was pretty exciting to get money. I won't lie.
But now, 14 years later, I couldn't tell you exactly who gave me money, or how much. The memories that remain are the overwhelming encouragement, celebration, and well-wishes from family, friends of our family, and everyone else. I still have some of the notes, letters, and cards people sent me, stashed away in a box. It's funny how time changes the value of things, money and otherwise.
