I keep my house at 60 degrees all the time. I asked the propane company for a discount because we use the same company for all of our spec houses.

How were you able to get your insurance and taxes out of escrow? I thought you had to do it that way, or that is what our lender told us at the time we did the mortgage.

      Thanks!

Hey, congrats, Jesse! I didn't realize your wife was expecting. Hope it all goes smoothly.

This doesn't save a lot of money, but we bring home the leftovers from our meals out at night. I usually have them for lunch, or if nothing else, we give the leftovers to our two dogs.

Using the internet so that I can compare prices before purchasing things. Doing this saves alot of money.

I just plain do not buy things anymore. I have enough clothes to last forever and I just don't need anything.

                  Dear Ima saver:

I too have stopped spending money. There is nothing out there I need. This Bush administration, spending massive amounts of our money on African Aids medicine (when they could lock the zipper and not spread the legs), Tsumani relief, a war that is unfounded at this time (so many lies, let's impeach him), and the hurricanes that keep raping the northern home owner in insurance payments. The taking away of pensions (Bush SR. started that in 1990) and now pensions. Let them take care of themselves. I am hording my cash and looking for a country that is hospitable to an American with a lower cost of living.

Non Mexican citizens cannot own property in Mexico. The best you can do is a long term lease (as in 100 years).

Other than that, we have family friends who live in Xcalak (on the yucatan) and they love it. The yucatan is much more settled than the rest of the country and it gets enough tourist trade that you can deal without having to learn spanish and run a tourist based business (our friends run a dive shop).

I plan to stay in the US and fight to bring back our constitution and "american way of life", but I understand being tired of fighting and wanting a rest.

Turned heat down low. I'm hearing from family and friend how they are paying anywhere from 200 to 300 dollars a month in heating. My highest has been $140. Also, hang drying clothes. Saved me $12 last month.

i wish i could say the same about not needing anything.lol. my clothing is so old and getting tatered. i dont think ive had anything new since i was 18, except for the occasional clearance find. but usually, finding clearances, i find more for my kids and end up w/o enough to buy for me. i wish clinton could run again. i hope hillary does, shes got my vote, after all shes really who run the country while bill was in charge.lol.

I haven't pulled my money out of my "building account" this year. So that has given me about 2 extra months of interest, about $1200 so far. It is hard to get a house going in the winter time.
