Here about a week ago I decided it was about time to change out the spark plugs in my car a Ford Crown Victoria. I've done it before and it is a very simple task, you simply buy a spark plug socket, unscrew the old ones and screw in the new ones with a cost of about $2.50 a plug. However to my surprise due to the way they are making vehicles now you have to copletely disassemble the fuel injection system to get to the spark plugs!
Needless to say I choose to take it into the shop and have them changed for me. My first quote was from fire stone for almost $200! I finally found a shop that did it for me for $138.04 and gave me a discount for being a college student.
It definately pays to shop around but I never would have thought a simple thing like spark plugs could be such a major repair of $200!
