Adding to what's already been said... When I've spent cash much as I've meant to record it in my day timer, it's inconvenient at the till and best intentions evaporate walking in the door and confronted with other agendas. With a CC I've a record of the transaction all on one sheet of paper/on-line statement which I can nearly always ascribe to a particular category. Oddly, I keep those paper chits and it's way easier to return an item if necessary.
I wanted to know when DH last had a hair cut , it was fast and easy to flip through a couple of statements for example and he couldn't dismiss the evidence as he wishes.
