    You may also see the number used to indicate the child's age, like me writing my DD13, meaning my dear daughter who is 13 years old. Of course, I could also write my PIAD for pain in the a-- daughter which would be more appropriate at this particular age.

    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?

        Other presidents where history proved their greatness or established their legacy include Lincoln and JFK.

        Too many Presidents try to be great while they are in office that they fail to just keep hands off and let things run themselves. Bush Jr clearly falls into this category (IMO).
        Not to deviate to much form the OP's thread but I agree that Carter was good as a diplomat but I doubt he had the ability to balance his own checkbook, much less run a national economy and the numbers showed that.

        I don't think a lot of these leaders have a hands off mentality, unfortunately. They assume the situation can only be fixed with their "plan" and it virtually never works.

            hey, is THAT what it means? haha I've seriously been around here for a year and never totally known what "DS" or "DW" really meant... I knew it was essentially "my son/wife/whatever", but ... hahaha well, learn something new everyday....

            I've known IMHO as "In my honest opinion", but again, essentially the same.

            Also:
            IMO = "In my opinion"
            FWIW = "For what it's worth"

                          also BIL, SIL, FIL, MIL is brother/sister/father/mother in law.

                          another reason why people don't use W for Wife and use DW instead, is that W could be a name for someone - a lot of people use first initials for friends instead of writing their real names.

                              Other financial terms not exclusive to this site:
                              HCOLA=high-cost-of-living area
                              ARM=adjustable-rate mortgage
                              HELOC=home-equity line of credit
                              FPU=Financial Peace University (a Dave Ramsey thing)

                              That's all I can think of right now that I don't believe has been mentioned.

                              And on the off-topic thing, I think Buchanan is the bad one from early in our history, but I can't remember the details right now--but basically as corrupt and inept as they come, right up there with Harding and Bush 43.
