Re: Body wraps?!
I understand I just curous bout it and they garrentee it to work or the next one is free and for what they charge it better somewhat work. One place is $75 and another is $140. I just don't have time to do much excersising plus what I do do is not really helping. my belly is pretty much all over the place from having 4 kids and my 4th was a big baby 8lbs 14oz (my biggest) it is also supposed to help acne too to clear up.

Re: Body wraps?!
I bet the crunches did more than the wrap. I am not a fan of a magic pill or a quick fix.
I had two kids, largest 8lb, 13oz. I lost the weight slowly and steadily with minimal excersise. First I changed habits, for life (unlike Garfield, I never dieted, I never deprived myself for eons). Then I made excercise a priority, even over cleaning, and now I seem to be able to fit most of both in, but that is flylady decluttering to make less to clean, and a few simple rules to 'clean as I go' I certainly don't have a perfect body, nor is my house perfect. But I highly recomend getting off the diet treadmill to anyone and everyone.
Case your wondering, prepregnancy (this time) I was a size 6, 6ft tall, 145ish lbs (no scale in the house) 29inch waist. Back in the treadmill days I was a size 10, and I am not printing for all to see my old weight. But I will say that at 5 months pregnant I havn't hit the old weight yet. (and yes the midwives are perfectly happy with my slightly above average weight gain so far this pregnancy)
I am not deprived, I do have some odd habits (milk with cookies or other sugar junk, no repeat foods in one day, etc) but I don't mind them, I didn't go from 5 or so cans of pop a day to 5 or so of water overnight! Nor did I go from old body to new overnight, but I am here, and I have no reason to believe the improvement will stop, If you take out the time for being pregnant and such it really didn't take me 4 years. more like 1. (to drop from a 10 to a 6)
Here is the basic concept, change one SMALL thing this month, thats it, one thing. Maybe add a glass of water, maybe add in parking in the middle of the parking lot, maybe take the stairs at the mall every time you go, something small. Very small. and nothing that will leave you at the end of the day thinking you are so tired of having to 'diet'. Then when it is easy, and it will be, change another thing. Over the course of time you will be one of those heathy eaters. If you start cutting slightly on the sugar in what you bake you might even turn into one of those people who can't drink pop cause it is so sweet. Some months are faster than others, some habits take longer to break, but by focusing on the long haul, instead of 'one more month till I go back to my old ways after the diet' The end result is a healthier lifestyle, which almost always happens to be a lower total weight. Shortly after I decided this was the way to go, Readers digest came out with their 'Change one' you have to pay them for it and it does nothing for people who already weigh a nice weight (I tried
.) but it sounds reasonable (like I said I never paid for the real service, just read about it) Oh and my father decided to do the same, lost over 100lbs doing it, (gained a good deal of muscle too, so fat loss was more than 100)
I dumped some of the stuff I did online (mainly to try and convince my mother to start) Don't mind the goofy setup, the site needs a lot of work.

Re: Body wraps?!
My BF lost over 100lbs through diet and exercise, of course. But he had a lot of extra skin around his middle. He recently did a body building contest and entered as a lightweight at 147 lbs. Well in order to get really cut and lose a little bit more of the skin, he used Preparation H. He put it around his middle (all the way around) and then wrapped himself in plastic wrap and slept with it on. It did reduce some skin. He was later complaining that it had made his skin too tight (while he was flexing though).
Oh and for the record, he lost the weight in about 1-2 years. (Used a version of the South Beach diet.) He came in 1st in the novice class and 2nd in the lightweights.

Re: Body wraps?!
I'll confess...I tried one, oh, about six or seven years ago. the idea is that it is supposed to pull the toxins out of your systam. As the therapist was wrapping me like a mummy in ace bandages, she told me that the woman who invented the secret herbal concoction partied all the time and then received the wraps to keep her system clean. She was reported to be in her late 50's, but still looked 40ish.
It wasn't an overly pleasant experience and I think you would need to receive one every week to see the results. I did feel little lighter afterwards and my skin was wonderfully soft, but not enough to counter the price.
I agree with previous postings...small, gradual changes. Two years ago I started parking my car in the lot farthest from my office. I also gave up diet coke. I've lost about 15 pounds and havent really changed any other eathing habits.
