  • Jolie-Pitt baby pics worth 11million dollars

ok. You buy a magazine for $3 at the super market.

Now the magazine has to pay all their staff, travel costs, models, plus printing costs, gas costs to deliver the magazine... Plus 11 million dollars for a few pictures?

How do they make any profit at all???
Does the magazine turn around and sell the pictures to other magazines or something?

BTW~ for those that dont know, the boy is Knox Leon, and the girl is Vivienne Marchalain (sp?) middle name is after Jolies mother.

They have a trend going with the boys, Maddox, Pax and now Knox...no trend with the girls, Zahara, Shiloh, and now Vivienne

Talk about ridiculous. What is the world coming to? I honestly couldn't care less about seeing the offspring of celebrities (or paying for the "privilege").

The magazines/tabloids get a lot of money from advertising, not just from subscriptions and newsstand sales.

Yeah. They'll get the money back. I know many people who buy these magazines right when they hit the stands!

I'm with you Debbie. I must be lacking the gene that makes me care about the personal lives of people who I don't know and have no connection to whatsoever. I'm no more interested in seeing photos of Jolie's kids than she would be in seeing photos of my daughter.

I will never understand the celebrity worship. Why would anyone spend perfectly good money to read about people they don't know? I enjoy the work of many actors and actresses and I will pay to see their movies, but I don't care what they do offscreen. I don't need to know what they drive, who they are dating, what bizarre names they've given to their children or how their divorce cases or court appearances turn out.

            * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
            * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
            * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Not only do I not care about seeing their baby pictures, I REALLY can't stand the rags tht show who has the worst beach body. Like just because you are a movie star you aren't allowed to have a wrinkle or a bit of flab. Then there was the one talking about the lady's bad breath. One wonders what kind of perfection the photographers and writers for these magazines have achieved that they can in all seriousness write these articles. I wish I didn't have to see them at the grocery store check out line.

I certainly wouldn't call it worship, but I enjoy reading about celebs. I just read online, so it doesn't cost me money. I find it a nice mindless diversion from the real world, and it entertains me.

I used to stay on top of the celebrity gossip and what not. But this was when I was in high school. I'm over it now. I barely have time to keep track of my own life, let alone someone elses!

I think they do it because it SELLS. There are many people who like to see and read that those "perfect" celebrities are just like the rest of us.

I don't ever buy them and I don't go online looking to read gossip about celebrities... but about a week ago I ended up on some celebrity gossip site from the UK and read a story about what the "Royals" wore to a recent wedding event. I was more interested in the reader comments, people were actually commenting about Princess Anne wearing the same outfit she wore to a weddding almost 30 years ago.

Just makes me glad that I'm not a celebrity! Why do people hold celebrities to a much higher standard than any regular folks and then flame them for not meeting those expectations? I can only assume it's some sort of psychological inferiority complex.

As for celebrity baby pictures being worth so much to tabloid magazines... I don't understand it at all. I guess they want to know who the child looks like, but I think that's impossible. My 4 year old daughter really looks nothing like she did when she was newborn, friends and family change their minds about who she looks like everytime they see her.

(However, if I were Jolie's nanny you can bet I would soon be $11 mil richer!)

I read it while I'm magazines in line at the store somewhere or anywhere I want to wait. I think most readers have it delivered at home. It's fun I guess. I enjoy reading it when I'm bored standing there.

I don't really get this whole phenomenon, but I guess the magazine must get their money out of it. Seems like there are better things that could be done with 11 million dollars. I know I could think of a few.

I'm pretty sure that when Shiloh came along, the money brought in by those pics went to charity. I think I remember reading the same thing was going to be done with the $11 million.
