Staples is having a 1 cent sale on school supplies. It is not as good as it has been in past years but among other things, they have packs of pencils for 1-cent, limit of two. I know about the limit because it says so in the sale paper. But when you get to the store, there is no mention of the limit so people who didn't see the sale paper are grabbing 10 and 20 packs of pencils at a time which is not unreasonable. Here's my beef: instead of just telling folks about the limit, the cashiers ring up the first purchase and then they ring up the remaining pencils 2 at a time! So there I am, waiting for the cashier to ring up one person 12 times!! It was insane. Fortunately, at least one person in front of me caught on to this absurdity and opted to get out of line and return to her car and get some change to pay for her pencils instead of putting each purchase on her credit card which helped me move forward. When I suggested to the cashier that they put up a sign letting people know about the limit, she didn't seem to understand why.

Staples 1 cent sale: minor annoyance

Wow... people had to charge .02 on their credit cards repeatedly as new transactions? There should have been some sort of warning for those who didn't see the paper! Who would want 10 different .02 transactions on their CC?! lol
I'm not surprised the cashier didn't understand your suggestion. She/he can only do what they're told to do and most wouldn't want to risk making a suggestion to their supervisor. Clock in, do your job, clock out. They won't be paid for anything beyond their particular 'call of duty'. What he/she could have done though, is offer to page their supervisor for you. Then again that would have taken even longer...

MORE annoying is the fact that the clerks at my store had NO clue where/if these items were in a HUGE store and could have carred less about my business.
Needless to say I walked out w/o spending ANYTHING and will not waste my time/gas going there again!!!
