Question about stocks that have gone private?

Newbee here....

I HAVE or should I say HAD some (COX) Cox Communications stock that is no longer listed on the stock exchange. After doing some research I have discovered that in August of last year they went private.

Since I got no notification on selling or trading my stock ...where did it go?... How can I find out what happened to my money? Any advise would be appreciated.

I would go to a local stock broker and find out what your options are - maybe you have a local Schwab or other discount broker. Go in saying you are looking for more information about opening an account and then mention your question.

Several ways to look at it. Find out who the transfer agent and registrar are and call them up. Most likely they dont have your address for one reason or other. Check both your state, teh state Cox is headquartered in and New York City to see if the fund were escheated in your name. When ever banks cant find where money or assets are supposed to go they escheat them to the state.
