  • Before you make a big purchase, make sure you search for coupons first...

Personally I am too lazy to collect coupons which are less than $1 in value. However, there are times you might want to buy something big and then the coupon can save you a lot of money, and all you need to do is a few clicks :-)

    Example:
Last year we were remodeling our house and wanted to buy the pergo from homedepot. It costs about $2000+. I took a few minutes and entered "home depot coupon" in ebay, boom there are so many of them with 10% off! $7 saved me $200 right there!

There are so many kinds of coupons you can buy online, too! Homedepot and Lowes coupons are just some of the popular ones. There are also baby formula coupons, diaper coupons, Kohls coupons, you name it. So start happy coupon searching now!

Very good advice. I've bought Marriott Bonus Bucks on ebay a few times. They are coupons that save you $50 off a 2-nite stay. I've bought them for about $12, so saved $38 each time I used one.

It always pays to search ebay for coupons and to check Google for codes before online purchases.

A friend of mine recommended Priceprotectr.com

If you make a purchase on some major websites you just enter what you purchased and it searches that company to see if it goes cheaper. If it does they send you an email and they you contact the company and get the difference. Pretty easy to use.

I have been having good luck with some Safeway coupons I purchased. They are good for $10 off a $50 purchase, and expire 12/08. I have been using one each week for the past 3 weeks and they seem to be legit. I bought enough to last me until they expire.

I can attest to this one. I bought an HD tv a couple years ago online. I was about to click "place order" when I decided to google "coupon" and the name of the retailer.

Found a 10% off coupon. When it comes to large purchases, that's a nice chunk of change.

Yes, I agree. Also, if you are making an online purchase, you can often go through a rebate site such as ebates and get cash back as well as the coupon price off.

If I get a rebate, a coupon discount, free shipping and no sales tax, I am in frugal heaven!
