I know this doesn't sound like it is money related, but if you knew how much I have had to spend on replacing stuff because my cat chews on all the cords, you'd know that it is totally financial related. Even of more concern, I'm afraid that she is going to electrocute herself or start a fire by chewing on a plugged in wire. Anyone have the same problem or know of a way to discourage a cat from chewing on cords?

Aren't there tubes you can put around them? I know they sell them.
And you are right - I would be concerned too. That is definitely NOT safe.

Spray bottle?
I have heard a spray bottle of water used hopefully without the cat knowing you did it every time they go near an unsafe spot (or claw your couch) keeps the cat believing in the 'invisible hand of justice'... of course don't do this if they cat has already chewed thru the cord....

My friend has these same problems... both her cats and rabbits chewed on her cord.
She says her solution worked on her pet was to coat the wires with hot pepper sauce. Once it is coated and dried on the wires, it didn’t smell. The pets do not like pepper sauce and it will not hurt the animals either.
