I got $5.00 free from Starbucks today!

A while back, I had gotten a Starbucks gift card with my Discover points. After my last purchase, there was only 16 cents left on the card (this is why I don't like gift cards). I would have given it to another customer, but there weren't any in the store. I got an email from Starbucks today that they had added $5.00 to my card. Luckily I still had the card in my purse. When I got the card in the mail, it had an option to register it online. I don't know why I registered, but I did, and now I'm glad.

Oooh ... I have a card that I received for Christmas 2006 that has been sitting unused because it has only 87-cents left on it! I never would have thought to register it, but now I think I will.

I haven't used the card yet, but I did register it. Maybe they'll reload me after I start using it.

If you're buying "regular" coffee, it definitely does. For less than $2, you can get a good sized cup of coffee. And I think Starbucks is promoting a $1 cup of coffee now (smaller cup).

It's the flavored lattes/espresso based drinks that cost so much. A grande or a venti mocha, for instance, usually runs $4 or $5.
