  • How to Celebrate Easter Inexpensively (Community Article)

Jeffrey, can anyone just start a community article?

If so, I'd like to see one on "How to Celebrate Easter Inexpensively":

    1. If you are a seamstress check out the remnant bin at your local fabric store and make your family's new duds! Maybe all that's needed is to accessorize (sp?) your existing Sunday best with perhaps a tie for Dad, a fabric purse for Suzy-Q, a floppy hat for the new baby, vest for Junior, and a great scarf for Mom.

    2. Start watching the sale papers for those loss leaders on hams for the big feast. A decent sized ham can be stretched out for many meals. Not enough money to buy a full sized ham? Check out the ham-steak which can usually be bought for about $2.50 or less from Aldi's or Save-A-Lot!

    3. Buy lots of eggs now while they are on sale - crack them & put them into the freezer in icecube trays for future baking or whip them & put them in freezer baggies to be used later this year for an inexpensive omelet supper.

    4. After-Easter is a great time to stock up on the CLEARANCE chocolate. Grated - It can be easily used for baking.

    5. Check the local thrift store for Easter baskets and holiday decorations.

    6. Check the paper for local churches having free Easter Egg Hunts for the kiddos!
