  • How Many Kitchen Gadgets Do You Have?

I have a closet full of kitchen gadgets and I am always looking at new ones for some reason! I have the following:

    blender
    electric knife
    food processor (large and small)
    crockpot (large and small)
    breadmaker
    rice cooker
    hand mixer
    rotissere/toaster oven
    toaster
    coffee pot
    deep fryer (fry baby)

For kitchen gadgets I was thinking on the smaller scale - I have different sized scoops for making muffins and cookies, and a dough scraper for making bread, along with a bunch of others I hardly ever use.

      hrm... I have

      Large toaster
      Large overhead microwave
      Hand mixer
      Smoothie blender
Peeler (best peeler in the world! found it at the flea market new)
      6 qt crockpot
      3 qt crockpot
      Extra electric burner
Various sized tin pans for muffins / breads / cassaroles
      Ice cream maker
3 huge stockpots (i love my big pots.. lol)

I think thats all. I just got started getting this stuff a year ago when i got married... so I still have some "wants" on my list (like, a real stove - my oven's broke! the large toaster does it ALL).

I have pretty much everything that's been listed with a few exceptions. I think I use most of "gadgets" at least 1x / month and have weeeed out stuff I don't use. My favorites and most often used are:

        Mini Chopper
Bread Maker (esp dough feature of pizza dough)
        Crock Pot
        Immersion Blender (for soups)

I don't consider most of these things to be "gadgets". I would classify most as appliances. To me, a gadget is something that serves a very narrow purpose, like a nutmeg grater or a citrus peeler, jobs that could be done just as well with other tools I've already got in my kitchen.

We do a lot of cooking and prefer to stock the kitchen with multi-use items. Still, there are a few single purpose items that just do a great job. The first one that comes to mind is our Susi garlic press. It's a gadget, but we use it constantly. The pizza cutter is another. We use it to slice pizza and quesadillas and that's it. We could use a knife, but this does a much better job. I've also got a small scoop that I use for cookie dough when baking.

I think of some of these things as gadgets. I really could just cook rice on the stove. I could get by without the electric knife, etc. but I do use those things. I don't use the deep fryer much because I don't really know what to do with the oil, how long to keep it, etc.

              actual gadgets, not appliances?

pizza cutter (use to cut fudge and bar cookies too)
lemon squeezer (DH and i use this 2-3 times in the week to squeeze limes for pico de gallo)
hard chees grater (little holes for hard cheese like parmesean)

the only appliance i have that's kinda gadgety is my black & decker food sealer that i need to get rid of it doesn't vacuum out completely and therefore is rather pointless. BAH!

Hi Guys! I seems that I have an overabundance of knives.

Big ones, small ones, laser sharpened ones, paring knives, steak knives, and a Pampered chef Super Knife that can cut anything and still stay sharp... is that possible? Go figure...

For gadgets, I have a couple, I have a new silicone baster, pizza cutter, cheese grater, nut cracker, and egg slicer. For appliances I have a few more. Toaster (used once a month or so), bread maker (used 3 or 4 times a year), coffee pot (used once a week), small microwave (used by DH for popcorn), crock pot (somewhere used never in last 5-6 years), milkshake maker (used rarely by DH), juicer (for playgroup), Mixer (not used enough!!)

Very few gadgets, as I prefer things that can do more than one task in the kitchen whenever possible. A bread machine that never gets used, a pasta-maker. Just don't ask about baking supplies. I collect bundt pans; well, ok, I collect baking equipment. Cake pans (round) size 14 inches to 5 inches, in multiples. A few square pans. Four or five bundt pans, bread baking baskets, cookie cutters, cake decorating supplies. Two heavy duty mixers and a hand-held mixer. And so forth. And every once in a great while, I use almost all of it!

I don't like to cook so I have no "gadgets!! We have an electric knife that my husband uses, but I never cut anything. I am too clumsy!

i just bought one of these vadalia food choppers advertised on tv.
i bought mine at cvs though and had a 3 dollar off coupon.

                        i like this little gadget.
last night i diced potatoes and onions with it, tossed them in olive oil and baked them ...delicious

also diced an apple and mixed that with cool whip. great dessert.

I try to keep my kitchen only full of things I use alot....so kitchenaid, rice steamer (got a new big one for my bday-nice, I now have leftovers!)
umm where was I..silicone muffin lineres, one for each muffin pan, plus 6...giving those away soon)

mini scoop for mini muffins, big scoop for big muffins

Mainly I have plenty of 'stuff' but I do not have the stuff I rarely use...IE if it has more than 6 months of dust out it goes.....The only exception being the wine bottle opener...I spend wellmroe than 6 months pregnant and unable to make use of it....

I signed up to be a Pampered Chef consultant for two years just so I can earn all of the Pampered Chef cooking gadgets, pots/pans and stoneware’s. I was surprised how well I sold to get almost everything they had on the catalogue. Being a person who hates to ask for shows and stuff... it happened easily for me. Once I got all I wanted, I quit. Now I just enjoy using them. I could not afford to pay for it otherwise. It was tons fo work and I would not do it again even though it was a very successful sales. one job is good enough for me.
